GED and Diploma Resources
Students of any age who would like to earn their GED can contact the Mayor’s Commission on Literacy at 215-686-5250 for information on GED and adult literacy programs.
Students aged 16-21 who want to earn their high school diploma or GED should contact the School District of Philadelphia’s Re-Engagement Centers. The centers offer referrals to accelerated high schools, and diploma and GED programs. No appointment is necessary, for more info email reengagementcenter@philasd.org, or call one of the centers.
Students aged 19 or older can visit an Education Opportunity Center to connect with GED completion resources. The Centers also provide college counseling services to adults and can help students plan for education beyond their GED or diploma. There are two Educational Opportunity Centers, one run by the University of Pennsylvania and one by Penn State University.
